Shakira has flown to Paris to meet Ingrid Betancourt, a Colombian captive who's just been freed. The singer was the first celebrity to celebrate the rescue of captives who were held by the revolutionaries in Colombia. Supporting the cause, Shakira met the former Colombian presidential candidate at the Hotel Meurice in Paris, on Wednesday.In her former statement, Shakira has been quoted as calling the rescue of the hostages "a historic day for all of us, for this country that has suffered a lot." The singer added, "What a proud day to be Colombian!"
